Job Summary
TopBuilder is a technology company serving the construction and real-estate industries. Established in 2008, we provide cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM), preconstruction and marketing software to home builders, realtors, residential and commercial contractors. We are financially stable, fast paced, innovative, and are a growing company serving hundreds of home builders, construction companies and real estate agencies across the USA and Canada. We are based in Houston, Texas.
As a technology company, TopBuilder continues to innovate by developing new and enhanced features for our customers. TopBuilder is modernizing our entire software stack from the current asp.net webform application on .net 4.x to the latest .net architecture. This modernization will include all layers of the software stack including the presentation layer, the API architecture, and the mobile architecture. After the modernization is complete, we will continue to maintain a modern architecture.
As a new member of our product development and support teams, you will be involved in designing and validating the new modern architecture including the migration strategy. You will have the responsibility to perform the migration and becoming the subject matter expert for various functional aspects of the application. You will also be called upon to assist in support, implementations and technical sales as needed.

Job Responsibilities
TopBuilder seeks experienced full-stack software developers in a permanent, full-time, long-term position. You must be self-motivated and productive in a supervised and unsupervised environment. You will be asked to pass a coding test, complete a job application, submit references and pass a background check. You must meet all the qualifications specified below for consideration.
As a key member of our engineering team, your responsibility will be to assist in modernizing the TopBuilder technology stack, developing new features and supporting existing features/technology. You will have the freedom to work in all areas of the technology stack. You will also have the flexibility to perform the majority of your work from home.
The expectation for this position is a professional that is part of the TopBuilder family. That means you take ownership of your work, take responsibility for the company’s performance and reputation, you take initiative, and can be trusted working with customers including with their confidential information.

Job Requirements
Must be located in the Greater Houston, TX area. This position requires a professional with strong coding skills, deep .net and SQL experience but is also able to interact with customers and other members of the TopBuilder teams. You must be trusted with customer data, TopBuilder intellectual property (or code) and critical application programs.
Required Skills (deep experience)
1. The latest version of .net/.net Cor
2. C#
3. REST/JSON Web API’s
4. SQL Server (Transact SQL, Stored Procedure, SQL script development)
5. JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as React and Angular
6. Working with Visual Studio/TFS or Azure Dev Ops
7. Open Authentication OAuth
Helpful Skills (some exposure)
1. Xamarin
2. ASP.net (webforms)
3. VB.net
4. HTML
5. XML
6. Developing within a standard methodology or framework (including coding standards)
Nice to have skills
1. Developer Express components (DevExpress)
2. Service based architectures/micro services
Experience
1. You must be an experienced .net developer with a minimum of 4 years on-the-job developer experience.
2. You must have on-the-job experience developing.net applications using the required skills listed above.
3. You must have formal education in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a similar degree.
Other Skills/Requirements
1. Reside in Houston or the greater surrounding area
2. You must be a US citizen (we are not sponsoring work Visa’s at this time)
3. Have excellent written and verbal skills
4. Have excellent time management and organizational skills
5. Be a self-starter, self-motivated and a self-driven person
6. Have access to a home-based office quiet enough for meetings, conference calls and webinars. You will be allowed to work at home at least part of the time.
7. Your interpersonal skills must include the ability to communicate clearly and patiently with clients and management.
